Things I’m looking forward to in July:

I am on vacation right now, which is what I was definitely most excited for this month. Now, if the weather gets warmer the next few days, like they say it will, I’ll be even happier. All I want to do is lay out and get some sun! Besides hoping for pool weather, enjoying my time at home with my daughter, reading as much as possible, and upping my running game – I don’t have much else planned for this month.

Not a bad reading month! Especially because I loved every book I read except one. It was hard to pick a favorite.

Things I’m looking forward to in June:

SUMMER! I’m just happy for summer hours at work on Fridays. Here’s hoping we have warm temps this month for lots of pool time, and hopefully more reading time. I have been struggling with picking books that hold my attention the past few weeks. I’m a bit disappointed in my reading numbers lately, so I would love to get my groove back and have a great summer or reading.

I just found out that EL James is releasing a book in Christian’s POV this month. Obviously I will need to get my hands on that.

{Monthly Recap} – April

monthly recap

April was a terrible month on the reading front as far as numbers go. I mean, I only read 3 books – THREE. Ridiculous. I loved all of the books I read, I just went through so many book slumps that I didn’t read as much as I like. It happens, and I’m hoping to be back into a reading groove again.

Things I’m looking forward to in May:

Bout of Books is in a few weeks and I’m really looking forward to it. A whole week to focus on getting as much reading time in as I can. Hopefully I’ll make up for the craptastic reading month I had in April. On a personal level, I’m turning 34 this month, and I’m hoping for another year as great as the last one. I’m also coming up on the one year anniversary to starting my weight loss journey at the end of the month. Instead of being upset that I’m getting another year older, as I normally would be, I’m looking at it with new eyes and focusing on how happy I am and how great I feel!

{Monthly Recap} – March

monthly recap

March wasn’t a terrible reading month, but it wasn’t my best, either. I feel like it was lacking in spectacular reads. Hopefully next month I find myself reading a lot of awesome, hard-to-put-down books, because I’m in need of some of those. Book funks are the worst, and they happen to me too often these days.

Things I’m looking forward to in April:

When it comes to bookish things, I am really excited about the release of Beautiful Secret. I recently caught up on this series and can’t wait for Niall Stella’s book! Also, my work book club chose The Nightingale for our April read, and I can’t wait for that meeting and discussion. If you haven’t read the newest Kristin Hannah book, I can’t recommend it enough. You can find my review here.

I’m looking forward to a long Easter holiday, getting my house spring cleaned, spending extra time with family, seeing my daughter’s excitement when she gets her basket on Sunday morning. And here’s hoping the weather starts to get warmer, because I want to work in more runs outside, and put away all of our winter clothes!

Because I can’t resist…

Sisterhood

My friend, Lori, over @ Palmers Page Turners nominated me for several blog awards. Thanks, Lori! I’ve decided to just answer the questions she asked, and since I can’t resist these things, and needed something to distract me over lunch – here you go!

1. What is your favorite book you’ve read so far in 2015?

22609310  18965316

Yes, I cheated and listed two books. They both deserve equal amounts of love.

2. Do you prefer physical books or ebooks?

eBooks

3.  Describe your ideal reading spot.

The left side of my couch – it reclines, is in front of my faux fireplace, and has an end table for my wine. 😉

4. Adults reading YA: OK or Not OK?

Of course it’s okay! I found this entire argument so ridiculous. I love reading YA.

5. Book you’re most excited to read in 2015? (It doesn’t have to be a new release)

Again, I can’t just pick one. Come on, now! I would answer Confess, by Colleen Hoover, but since I already had the opportunity to read it, here’s the rest of my highly anticipated books of the year…

22571540  9781476776880 final

24422492  22431039

6. What is your biggest bookish pet peeve?

If we’re talking about content in a book – my biggest peeve is unnecessary detail. Overly detailed books make me lose interest quickly.

7. Do you let others borrow your books? Why or why not?

I have, and it depends on the person. If it’s someone I trust, I don’t mind lending them my books.

8. What time of day do you prefer to read?

In the evening, after my daughter goes to bed (after 8 pm). If can manage to stay awake and read for a few hours.

9. What book would you recommend to a non-reader to get them excited about reading?

Anything Colleen Hoover (come on, you figured that was coming)

15717943

10. What else do you enjoy doing in addition to reading?

I’d be totally lame and pathetic if my answer was ‘nothing’, right? Okay. I love watching football, drinking wine, and lately playing Trivia Crack.

11. What is your favorite thing about being a book blogger?

The people. I’ve made a lot of friends over the past year, and I’m so thankful for every one of them!

These were really fun questions. Thanks, Lori! Go check out Lori’s blog if you haven’t already!
