{What I Read} May – July 2017

Instead of doing a monthly recap, I started these quarterly ones. Here’s what I’ve read the past few months!

What I Read

The one that I loved the most: Without Merit

The one that came in a close second: The Queen and the Cure

The one I couldn’t put down: Don’t Let Go

The one that was a bit disappointing: The Good Widow

The one that I highlighted almost every page on my Kindle: Atheists Who Kneel and Pray

The one that was awesomely inspiring: Big Girls Do It Stronger

The one that I’m still thinking about: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

The past few months have been the best reading months of the year for me! I read several of my most anticipated books of the year – and every one of them lived up to my expectations.

WHAT’s ahead

Some books I’m looking forward to reading soon…

{WWW Wednesday} 8-16-17

W… W… W… Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Worlds is a weekly meme showcasing what you just finished reading, what you are currently reading, and what you plan to start reading next. Except I’m changing it up a bit, since I can never plan what I’m reading next (moody reader). Instead I’m going to talk about a book I’ve recently added to my TBR that I’m excited about!

what i recently finished reading

I didn’t love The Secrets She Keeps. Very predictable. I did love Cover of Night (despite hating that stupid cover). The books in this series are such fun, quick reads.

And I am berating myself for not picking up A Million Junes sooner. This is a book I pre-ordered, after several reader friends highly recommended it. And of course, I put off reading it, and why?! It was so good!! I didn’t want to put it down.

 what i’m currently reading

After reading The Nightingale, which is one of my favorite books ever, I have been anxious for Kristin Hannah’s next release. I was so thrilled that the publisher reached out to me and offered me an early copy. I haven’t started it yet (I finished A Million Junes at 10:00 last night), but I will be starting it today!

what i have recently added to my tbr

This book has been receiving a lot of great reviews, so I bought a Kindle copy of it earlier this week. I’ve been feeling drawn to historical fiction lately…we’ll see how long that lasts, because I’m a mood reader. 😉

 Reading anything good this week?

{Top Ten Tuesday} YA book recs…for readers who aren’t big fans of YA

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week’s topic is Top 10 12 Book Recommendations (insert topic here)

I’m not a huge fan of YA books – I have to be in a certain mood to pick one up. And I’m super picky about the ones I do read. So for any of you readers that are like me and hesitate to pick up a YA book – I have some recommendations for my top favorites that I’m sure you’ll enjoy despite not being a huge fan of the genre.

Have you read any of these? What did you think?

{On My Radar} Most Anticipated Books

Grace over at Rebel Mommy Book Blog recently posted about her Most Anticipated Books and it gave me the idea to do a similar post of what upcoming releases I’m most excited about.

Some of these books are releasing soon, while others aren’t set to release until early 2018. Still, I’m excited to get my hands on them!

Books I need now!

Books I have and can’t wait to read

what i recently finished reading

I loved this memoir. It was classic Jen, the Jen I loved in her first several memoirs. I laughed so much reading this book – loved it!

 what i’m currently reading

I had started this one a few weeks ago, but put it aside to read a few other books (CoHo, Fisher, and Coben books will make me drop anything I’m currently reading). First time I’ve read anything by this author, and although I am enjoying his writing style, the entire book has been very predictable.

what i have recently added to my tbr

This book released yesterday – I have a copy coming from the Book Depository (hopefully sometime this week). Can’t wait to read it – I keep hearing it’s really good!
