Synopsis

In the Bone there is a house.

In the house there is a girl.

In the girl there is a darkness.

Margo is not like other girls. She lives in a derelict neighborhood called the Bone, in a cursed house, with her cursed mother, who hasn’t spoken to her in over two years. She lives her days feeling invisible. It’s not until she develops a friendship with her wheelchair-bound neighbor, Judah Grant, that things begin to change. When neighborhood girl, seven-year-old Nevaeh Anthony, goes missing, Judah sets out to help Margo uncover what happened to her.

What Margo finds changes her, and with a new perspective on life, she’s determined to find evil and punish it–targeting rapists and child molesters, one by one.

But hunting evil is dangerous, and Margo risks losing everything, including her own soul.

 Random Bookish and Non-Bookish Thoughts
  • I just finished After I Do, and it was fantastic.  If you enjoy marriage-in-crisis themed books – you will love this book.  Review to come later this week.  This is a book I will not forget anytime soon.
  • Friday was my wedding anniversary, and hubby and I celebrated by eating at our favorite local restaurant, then watching a movie – Taken 2. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect date night.
  • My friends are awesome and they bought me this.

  • Trying to talk my book club friends at work into reading Harry Potter.  I am shocked that out of about 12 women – only one of them has read HP.  I’ve almost got them convinced, maybe.
  • I really need the Steelers to beat the Browns tomorrow so I don’t have to hear it at work on Monday.

 Random Bookish and Non-Bookish Thoughts
  • Had Sunnie’s birthday party today and she was one happy little girl.  It was a great day with family and friends.  I still can’t believe she’s 4 tomorrow!
  • I feel like Big Little Lies is taking me FOREVER to read.  But it’s really good, just a slow read…
  • Decorated for Fall this weekend, because I’m so sick of my other decor.  I don’t care if it’s too early – I love it.
  • I’m one tired momma right now.  So glad to have tomorrow off work.  Going to call it a night with my wine and Kindle.

My Thoughts

  • I had so much fun with Bout of Books and got a ton of reading done this week.  I love any excuse to read, but this week really pushed me to read more than my norm.
  • Weekend full of fun. Shopping, pool time, eating at my favorite restaurant, and reading.  Can’t complain!
  • Gearing up for a busy holiday weekend coming up.  My peanut’s 4th birthday party is that Sunday, her birthday is Monday, and she starts preschool on Tuesday. It’s going to be an emotional weekend.  And at the end of that week is my 6 year wedding anniversary.  Crazy how fast time flies!
  • September is by far my busiest month at work, so I’m not expecting to read as much as I normally like.  I foresee myself crashing on the couch most nights pretty early.
  • But it’s also one of my favorite months!  Not only because of peanut’s birthday and my anniversary, but the official start of the football season, and decorating for fall.  I don’t care if it’s still hotter than Hades in mid September – my fall decorations are coming out!
