{Bout of Books 19} Day One

After a really busy weekend, I didn’t have much time to prepare or even think about the week ahead. But I LOVE BoB week, so despite a busy schedule the next couple of days, I’m going to try to read as much as possible and participate as much as I can. I didn’t bother setting any goals – I’ll just be happy to read at all.

I’m in a bit of a book funk and have had trouble settling on a book for the past few days. I probably started about 7 books and put them all down after a few chapters. I just don’t know what I’m in the mood for! I hate when this happens – especially when it’s a BoB week!! Last night I decided to pick up the ARC I have of the new Sarah Morgan book. I love her books and they usually hold my attention. Because I was so tired, I didn’t get very far, but I was really enjoying it. And today The Queen and the Cure was released! I was SO excited for it to download to my Kindle this morning! There are only a few authors who’s books I will pre-order, and Amy Harmon is one of them. I plan on starting this book today.

Five Things Friday ~ 5-5-17

1. this week in reading

I finally finished this one! It was almost as good as On Second Thought. I can’t wait for her next book!

2. New Books I’m excited about

I’m jumping on the Maas train and plan to read the rest of this series.

3. fun thing(s) from the week

I turned 36 yesterday, and it was a great day! I received so many wonderful messages and cards from friends and family and coworkers. It’s really just been a great week. Last weekend my hubby and I had a date night with my best friend and her hubby. After we had an awesome dinner (and cheesecake) we went to a local bar for a few drinks. It was such a great night. Monday I went and got my birthday present – a new tattoo. I LOVE it.

On Tuesday one of my other best girlfriends came into town and treated me to lunch. And last night my hubby and daughter took me to dinner to celebrate. Sunnie was so excited to give me the present she picked out and the card she made me. I felt so loved all week!

4. Fit Readers

The weather has been cold and rainy for the past week, but I did manage to get outside for a run a couple days when we got a break from it. It’s looking like rain for the next several days – yuck! When the weather is doing this in between thing, I find it really hard to be motivated to use my treadmill. I just want to run outside! I cut myself some slack yesterday on exercise and eating (I mean, it was my birthday, so calories don’t count, right?!). I need to make up for it today and at least run on the treadmill, as it’s pouring down rain right now.

5. looking ahead

Sunnie’s final dance competition for the year is this Sunday. We’ll be staying in a hotel Saturday night, as she has to be ready to dance first thing Sunday morning. Because I won’t be home much, my plan is to get as much done as I can today!

Have a great weekend!

{WWW Wednesday} 5-3-17

W… W… W… Wednesday, hosted by Taking on a World of Worlds is a weekly meme showcasing what you just finished reading, what you are currently reading, and what you plan to start reading next. Except I’m changing it up a bit, since I can never plan what I’m reading next (moody reader). Instead I’m going to talk about a book I’ve recently added to my TBR that I’m excited about!

what i recently finished reading

Absolutely nothing

So, life has been a little busy for the past week. As hard as I tried to fit in some reading time every day, it didn’t always happen.

 what i’m currently reading

It rarely takes me over a week to finish a book, and I’m SO CLOSE to finishing this one. I’ve got less than 100 pages left. I’m really loving every minute and don’t mind the slower pace. And I still have no idea how things will end for both sisters, but I do know I’m going to be a bit sad when I finish the book.

WHat i have recently added to my tbr

I’ve been trying really hard to ignore the hype surrounding this series. Hyped books tend to disappoint me. But I did read the first book and really enjoyed it (read it as an ARC before the hype got crazy). I have had this second book on my Kindle for awhile, but had zero desire to pick it up. Now that the third and final book has been released, I feel like maybe I want to try this one. Since it’s only a 3 book series, and I’ve read one of them already, it’s not too much of a commitment.
And for all of you that are reading the third book right now, I hope it’s amazing and living up to your expectations! Especially because I bought a copy today. 😉 I’m avoiding any and all spoilers and reviews until I read both books.

 Reading anything good this week?

{Top Ten Tuesday} Cover Love

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week’s topic is Cover Theme Freebie.

I went with some of my favorite covers over the past year. Some of these I’ve read and some are on my TBR list. I shamefully admit that I judge a book by it’s cover, and I’m more likely to pick it up if the cover is pretty.

Do you notice a theme? I’m drawn to books with creepy houses or cozy cabin/lake getaways. 😉
