{Mini Review} Deadline

About the book

Dawson Scott is a well-respected journalist recently returned from Afghanistan. Haunted by everything he experienced, he’s privately suffering from battle fatigue which is a threat to every aspect of his life. But then he gets a call from a source within the FBI. A new development has come to light in a story that began 40 years ago. It could be the BIG story of Dawson’s career–one in which he has a vested interest.

Soon, Dawson is covering the disappearance and presumed murder of former Marine Jeremy Wesson, the biological son of the pair of terrorists who remain on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. As Dawson delves into the story, he finds himself developing feelings for Wesson’s ex-wife, Amelia, and her two young sons. But when Amelia’s nanny turns up dead, the case takes a stunning new turn, with Dawson himself becoming a suspect. Haunted by his own demons, Dawson takes up the chase for the notorious outlaws. . .and the secret, startling truth about himself.

My Thoughts

I love romance and I love suspense. I especially love when they overlap and Sandra Brown is the queen of great romantic suspense! I was in a terrible book slump when I picked up this book, and it was the cure I needed. I was immediately sucked into the story and didn’t want to put it down. I don’t know why I don’t pick up more of Brown’s books, but I have several on my Kindle that I hope to read soon.

5 Stars

I’ve heard amazing things about Sandra Brown’s suspense novels and as much as I love suspense, I haven’t read her books. What’s wrong with me?

  2. Kathryn says:

I haven’t read one of hers for awhile, but I did enjoy them. Came to look at your mini reviews, because going to do that with some of the books as I want to record them on my blog but not with long review. Your style is perfect!

Thanks! It makes blogging so much easier! And takes some of the pressure off.
Have you read Mean Streak? It’s my favorite Sandra Brown book. Highly recommend!
